Veronika Gabrielová (*1992) focuses on drawing and its overlaps in her work, in which she explores mainly anthropological phenomena, such as socialization processes in contemporary society and their own border positions, which are most accurately revealed in the clash with other cultures. She draws on her own experiences and depicts details from her immediate surroundings. She expresses herself mainly through line, which in her conception takes the classic form of pencil drawing or gel glitter pens, as well as embroidery or text. She completed an internship at the Korean National University of the Arts in Seoul, and in 2018 she completed her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague at the Drawing Studio of Jiří Petrboek and Petr Vaňous. She is represented in private collections in the Czech Republic and abroad. An interview with Laura Limbourg and Veronika Gabrielová can be found on our website.

Veronika Gabrielová often uses line and figure in her works. She has combined both aspects of her work in her print Triton*ka, which she created during her residency at Telegraph Gallery. Triton*ka is a kind of homage to Olomouc - it was inspired by one of the many Baroque fountains located in the city centre. In addition, when choosing the subject of her Tepegraphics, Veronika Gabrielová played with another approach in her work that is close to her heart, namely a feminist view. She transformed the traditionally male mythological figure of Triton into a female counterpart.
