Product detailed description
The unique book project SPECTRUM offers readers an exclusive opportunity to glimpse the current developments in the field of visual culture. Over several years, curators Petr Vaňous, Barbora Ropková, and Jan Kudrna assembled a diverse selection of works by forty-five artists born in Czechoslovakia in the 1970s and 1980s, who are also active in the country. However, this is the only clearly defined link between them— as the very title of the publication suggests, our contemporary painting scene is extremely diverse, not only in the variety of artistic media but also in the different approaches and perspectives embodied by these artists. Across more than six hundred pages, readers will find reproductions of artworks sourced from private and state collections as well as from the personal holdings of selected artists, along with art historical and curatorial texts, exhibition photographs, and short interviews with the artists.
