The fifth in a series of exhibitions uncovering the private Robert Runták Collection focuses on art collecting as a phenomenon with many facets, forms, and variables. This ambitious and multifaceted endeavor sets out to present a selection of iconic, predominantly large-scale installations within a relatively modest space, offering visitors the opportunity to “absorb” pivotal works on a scale that significantly exceeds conventional norms. As a unique venue bringing together several standalone works that rank among the key pieces of post-1989 Czech art, both in terms of their significance and exhibition history, it offers a comprehensive insight into the history of modern Czech art. The publication, spanning over 250 pages, is interspersed with six sections showcasing the individual exhibited works. Alongside exhibition photography, it features reproductions of more than a hundred artworks by roughly ninety artists, accompanied by a curatorial text. The catalogue is written in Czech and English.
