Detailed information

Product detailed description

The fourth exhibition unveiling another part of Robert Runták's Collection this time presented a selection of works from the unofficial current of the 1980s. The exhibition presented the generation of artists emerging in the 1980s in confrontation with their mentors who worked outside of school institutions. Indeed, the most interesting of the contemporary art scene did not take place officially, but in seclusion, out of sight of the evaluation committees that were supposed to guarantee the ideological and artistic value and censor the artworks before they were exhibited. The nearly 100-page publication offers a comprehensive account of artistic approaches in the 1980s. In addition to reproductions of the exhibited works, it also includes curatorial texts and contemporary photographs. The catalogue is written in Czech and English.
