I Wish That I Was Made Of Stone (catalogue)
Product detailed description
The memory of objects, their hidden energy, and their relationship to history have become the central theme of an exhibition by Slovak artist Lucia Tallová (*1985). Her work is dedicated to objects, their memories, and their history. She transforms found objects, old photographs, architectural fragments, and glass elements into sensitive compositions that transform layers of time and memory into a new visual reality. Tallová therefore develops a certain kind of archaeology, in which she intervenes in the original layers and dispositions of found objects and opens up their hidden memory. The exhibition I Wish That I Was Made of Stone presented collages created during her residency, as well as her latest work in the form of large-format ink paintings. The more than ninety-page catalogue not only provides rich pictorial documentation and curatorial texts by Jan Kudrna, but also an authentic reflection by Dr. Sam Bardaouil, who emphasizes the author's ability to work with fragility not as a weakness, but as a structural principle.
The publication is available in two versions: in addition to the regular edition, there is also a limited edition with an original silkscreen print by Lucie Tallová, created in collaboration with Erika Kovačičová and Peter Lupták (format 24 × 18.3 cm). Only 50 copies of this print were produced, and its uniqueness is underscored by the hand-marbled paper—each piece is completely different. The catalog is written in Czech and English.
