Pavel Korbička (*1972) deals with light, space, movement and sound in his work. He works with specific places in which he responds to their uniqueness and their hidden orders, which he tries to activate through the presence of the viewer and his individual perception. His artistic activity lies between sculpture, architecture and scientific research. Korbička graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. Since 1998 he has been teaching at the Sculpture 2 studio at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Brno. In the exhibition at the Telegraph Gallery he presents a site-specific light installation.
On the occasion of this exhibition, which took place at the Telegraph Gallery at the turn of 2021 and 2022, Pavel Korbička created a serigraph that largely reflects the experience of the gallery visitor. The subject refers to a motif that the viewer encounters immediately upon entering the installation. It is a dynamic light pattern, broken up into regular points, which creates a visual tremor - at the same time the graphic carries a metaphor of the optical experience inside the installation. Optics and light were key elements of Pavel Krobička's exhibition at Telegraph Gallery. As such, the print acts as a certain reminder of one particular event, which in itself adds an unmistakable value.
