Jakub Špaňhel (Original graphics)
Product detailed description
Telegraphic. You can have a unique piece of art with real artistic value in your home. Serigraphy by one of the most important contemporary Czech painters Jakub Špaňhel follows a minimalist line in his work. Through the repetition of shapes and the subtle dynamics of the chosen colours, he depicts the life cycle of butterflies and evokes the movement and changeability of nature.
The printing technique of serigraphy (or screen printing) consists of a process in which ink is pushed through a fine mesh onto the printing surface. The technique first appeared more than a thousand years ago in China, but gained its greatest popularity during the Pop Art period, when artists such as Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein made it famous. Telegraphics offer you a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with the work of contemporary artists. Each print in this limited edition reflects the unique approach and personal vision of its creator. Explore the full range of telegraphics and get a piece of an inspiring world with increasing artistic value to take home with you.
Jakub Špaňhel (*1976) is one of the most important contemporary painters in the Czech Republic. He studied in the studio of Jiří David and Milan Knížák at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and was a member of the Luxsus art group. Špaňhel's work is permeated by two lines - the first is minimalism, consisting in the mechanical repetition of a motif using a paint roller, and the second is a distinctive gestural expression through which he records impressions from architecture and interiors of sacred buildings or even secular spaces, such as central banks. Špaňhel's works can be found in many private collections, but also in the possession of the National Gallery in Prague.
