Filip Kůrka (screenprint)
Product detailed description
Telegraphic. You can have a unique piece of art with real artistic value in your home. A serigraph by the Czech artist Filip Kůrka, entitled Solitéra, captures a moment from the performance and subsequent exhibition of the same name, which was first seen at Olomouc's Telegraph Gallery during Kůrka's residency in October 2022. Solitéra is something of an embodiment of Kůrka's hunter realism. And now you can have a piece of it at home!
The printing technique of serigraphy (or screen printing) consists of a process in which ink is pushed through a fine mesh onto the printing surface. The technique first appeared more than a thousand years ago in China, but gained its greatest popularity during the Pop Art period, when artists such as Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein made it famous. Telegraphics offer you a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with the work of contemporary artists. Each print in this limited edition reflects the unique approach and personal vision of its creator. Explore the full range of telegraphics and get a piece of an inspiring world with increasing artistic value to take home with you.
Filip Kůrka (*1993) is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts, where he studied in the studios of Martin Mainer and Jiří Petrbok. During his studies, he completed internships at the University of London and in the studio of intermedia confrontation of Jiří David at the Prague UMPRUM. He is known for his controversial depictions of pornographic themes, but has recently undergone, as he puts it, a personal rebirth in which God gave him the idea of hunter realism. As a result, Kůrka became its founder and is currently working intensively on its realization. He has had numerous exhibitions in the Czech Republic and abroad, for example at the Gallery of Contemporary Art at the Prostějov Contemporary Art Festival, The Chemistry Gallery and the Portheimka Gallery in Prague.
